Happy Birthday Lucy!

Today would have been Lucille Ball's 100th birthday. How much joy did we get from this legendary woman? I think the I Love Lucy show was the only program I could watch repeats over and over again and never tire of. I remember when I was 11, I got to see the live taping of "Here's Lucy" in Southern California. I remember that day so well and just how exciting it was to see Lucy in person!

Have you seen Google's interactive 'doodle' on its homepage that features 7 classic clips from I Love Lucy? So clever. You must take a peek.

What was your favorite Lucy episode?

Wonderful post! I am addicted to I Love Lucy shows, I have all of them recorded. I watch them every night before I go to sleep and laugh as though I've never seen them before. I was just sharing about how much I love the show on my last post! I plan on watching the marathon that will start today, celebrating her 100 years. Your so lucky to have seen her in person! Have a wonderful weekend!

Loved this!!!!!My favorite was when she did the Vetavitavegamin episode where she was starring in a commeercial for a health drink and had to drink this concoction and after several takes got progressively schnockered..Maryannexo

I love love love Lucy Ball. My favorite scene was the one in the chocolate factory. But, if anyone can help me out please... there is a scene stuck in my head and for the life of me I don't know which show that was: The Ricardos and the Mertzes worked in a restaurant together with the boys in the kitchen and the girls being the waitresses. Ethel takes an order for a double hamburger, no onions and shouts to Fred something like Slap the cow twice and don't make her cry and Fred gets the order absolutely right. Spot on. Lucy is impresssed and tries it herself with very funny results.
Does anyone remember this one?

How can I even begin to pick??? My sister and I always say to each other..."what would Lucy do?"...and then we do the opposite! We've always loved her and always will.

(oh, how I wish she was on as much as she used to be so this generation could appreciate her!)
Thanks all for your comments. I can't think of my favorite episode...there were so many. Perhaps the chocolate factory one stands out. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
