R.I.P.

A stunning week of losses. As children in the 1970's, Farrah Fawcett and Ed McMahon were on our television sets...

Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5's albums played on our record players. The Jackson 5 Greatest Hits (above) released in 1971 was my first album. Michael filled so many of our lives with amazing music.

We will all remember these icons and what they've contributed to each of us, and wish their families our deepest sympathy. A week of sadness for sure.

Yes, a very sad week. we have lost three icons. A lovely touching post.
My first album, too! I had such the crush on he AND Donny Osmond. My heart hurts for all of the family and friends.
Ticklish, I think we're the same age! So weird that both our first album's. Very sad day indeed. I had a crush on David Cassidy!

It's so sad. Celebrities always go together...

All the best,
Allison
I love that pic of M. Jackson that you show -- don't think I've ever seen it before. He looks so much more "peaceful" there than he came to look as years went on...Maybe its just the innocence of youth showing, but he looks great there in that pic.

Yes, we must all be about the same age, because I identify with all the stars mentioned! I'd forgotten about David Cassidy!! :)

Thanks for a sweet post.

Ruth
It's a sad day for all of us who grew up in the 1970's.
I was out all day yesterday and returned home late... then this morning getting online early was such a shock to see what had transpired. So many icons from my childhood....

So moved by these losses ... sometimes it's not until someone is gone that we realize how much they impacted us. Love the music ... it worked !
